RSS Feeds
RSS - RSS (an acronym for "Really Simple Syndication"/"Rich Site Summary") is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, or podcasts. "An RSS document (which is called a "feed", "web feed", or "channel") includes full or summarized text, plus metadeta such as publishing dates and authorship." (www.wikipedia.org)
This makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that's easier than checking them manually. Instead of people having to check 10 of their favorite sites, it allows you to check one site with all this information from the other sites on it. For example if you were a big sports fan and you checked the NBA, NFL, and NHL (along with other sports scores) daily, you could get the "feed," for all three sites and put them into your account. This would save you plenty of time everyday.
