Course syllabus
COURSE INTRODUCTION AND WEEKLY AGENDA
Welcome to Library Science.
This course has two components:
A) In House Library tasks are done M-F on an as needed basis. Those with an
asterisk are daily jobs:
1. learning the library software for cataloging and book check outs
2. shelving and organizing assigned shelves *
3. processing books: barcoding and stamping
4. working at the circulation desk *
5. assist students in finding books *
6. helping with book check outs in the library and in the classrooms *
7. assisting with the high school and the middle school book room
8. delivering books to various classes *
9. barcoding and delivering textbooks
10. checking out textbooks
B) Classes on Digital Literacy.
Typing practice is daily. These two days are set aside for instruction, discussions,
answering questions. This is an informal class. There may be times I will be working
with you on an individual basis to be sure that you understand the lesson.
C) Things to Know
Your class is predominately online.
You will be assigned an eReader with pre-loaded books to begin your reading
assignments.
Before class begins please do the following:
Be sure that you can log into your district gmail account.
Remind 101 is used for class updates and reminders. Please sign up using the
specific information given to you in your folder. Here is a link that you can use.

Let's Get Organized
For the first week of class you will be making desktop file folders for your
assignments. Create a desktop folder and title it Digital Literacy: Create 10
additional sub-folders. Use the titles listed below for each sub folder.
